There are many trees around Bac Ha, and in the spring the countryside is white with blossoms. Every Sunday, Bac Ha hosts the biggest fair near the mountainous highlands and the Chinese border. It is a typical weekly activity for the H’mong and other minority groups living in the locality, local products for sale.

- Can Cau Market (on Saturday):
Can Cau Market is a small, but very colourful market, set in the mountains along the side of the Main Road, near the Chinese border. The Flower H’mong Minority is the most common there, and their colourful dresses makes is a beautiful sight. (Spectacular animals market in Indochina).

- Coc Ly Market (on Tuesday):
Leaving SaPa early Tuesday morning or picked up in Lao Cai arriving with the train from Hanoi, we drive with “Van or Car” to Coc Ly Market. The drive from SaPa will take us approximate 2,5 hours. We visit the market with all it's colourful ethnic people such as Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dzay who gathers to buy and sell. Before lunch we go on a short trek to the nearby village of Sa Kun Ho which is inhabited by the Flower H’mong and Black Dao minority. Your lunch is depend on the timing, it’s might in a local restaurant before drive to Trung Do village - inhabited by Tay minority. From the village we go by boat down the river, where we experience the magnificent sight of the beautiful caves and bustling life on the riverbank. The boat trip takes us about 1 hour before we are driving back to SaPa or to Lao Cai train station depending on your wishes.
